Some Points That Can Assist You As A Parent
As a parent now for nearly sixteen years I actually understand the fine balance between toddler discipline, and squashing the spirit of a kid.
When my first daughter Ellie was born I was totally new with this thing called parenting, and I found most of the parenting books to be contradictory at best and a few simply stupid at worst. This might seem harsh for some new parents who are looking for a clear path as a parent.
I can understand as being a parent is really a tricky business specially when it comes down to discipline and especially toddler discipline, if you opt for the free range approach and just let your children kind of develop in the vain expect all is going to be well, then you are likely to be living some kind of living nightmare, with your kid completely dictating the agenda and totally running your life.
On the other hand if you go for total discipline as favored by numerous through the years, then you run the risk of totally losing the real essences of your kid's character.
I would like to say that their is a holy grail of toddler discipline, that you can follow and tick off the list as you go, and trust me many people would try and sell it to you that way. The way I see it, it's about two core things boundaries and communication especially as your son or daughter starts to get to the toddler stage and over and above.
I still find this to be the case with my 16 and 13 old children, I have what i refer to as my fall back position, that's as far as I will go on any given issue, that's my boundary that in most cases my kids over a few years have learnt to identify, however within those boundaries their is countless opportunities of freedom of expression and chances to grow as individuals that I personally feel is vital.
To do this though good communication is key when implementing toddler discipline, to this end I have been really privileged to have learnt things like NLP which have helped me shape my vocabulary skills and body language to get maximum engagement with my kids.

This is something I just thought of. Since you guys are all such a fantastic bunch, and this community keeps getting better all the time, I thought to provide this value-added service to you.
I use IBP (Internet Business Promoter) - slightly older version, but effective nonetheless - for analyzing and optimizing websites. It's a fantastic tool, and I thought that perhaps some people could benefit from this analysis - even though people might not be able to afford a copy of it themselves.
A while back I used this software to optimize one of my websites, and it has been amongst the top 10 for more than 6 months. IBP will analyze the top 10 websites for your chosen keywords, and give you suggestions to tweak your page by comparing to those top ten sites.
Here is what I can do for you (this is free of cost for APS members, since you guys all rock, and you deserve to get paid forward to in this way):
I can have your page analyzed for SEO and send you back suggestions that the program makes - as a RTF or PDF file. These will contain a lot of suggestions - very detailed - you will be surprised at how helpful this will be for you.
For obvious reasons, I can only entertain one page per person, so send me the one URL you consider the most crucial. So sorry, I wish it could be more, but I don't want to make promises I cannot fulfill.
Here is what you must do:
1. Post here that you need my help. I will go according to the queue here, but also you must PM me (in #2). I will go on a first come, first served basis.
2. Send me a PM with the desired keywords for which you want your website to rank, plus one URL that you want analyzed. Please note that I can only do one set of keywords per URL, due to the shortage of time.

, live for the weekend with my mates, have no kids, don't smoke and I work as a part time Sales Assistant for Tesco the world's 3rd largest retailer (with Walmart being the 1st, lol.) I also have 2 basic Fist Aid qualifications, basic Food Hygiene levels 1 and 2 qualifications aswell as a GNVQ - General National Vocational Qualification in Business Studies.I was recently taking a course with Advent IT training learning Web Design and how to be a PC Technician. Unfortunately the company went bust meaning I couldn't carry on with my training but luckily I have APS to fall back on and with you great people to help carry me through.
I love a challenge in life, meeting people, making new friends and I enjoy participating in fundraising events such as Dragon Boat Racing and 10 Kilometre runs to raise sponsorship for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK. Free Advertising Topic Revival!
There are literally thousands of postings from when this forum originated on many topics and I am creating this thread to revive many of those techniques.
Just going through many of them so that they can be implemented to see if their effectiveness is still applicable today. Which most of them will be of course but since they are from long ago and long forgotten (or just not found), this is a good time to implement a "revival" of techniques lost to the archives.
Everyone please share any archived material here with a link to the original poster and results of your efforts in utilizing them.

Since, I am currently on a free classified advertising campaign I am beginning this with Mike Oyama's post REEMikes Advertiser Listing Directory, dated: Jul 8 2009. The reason being is that when I went to this blog it had some free advertising sites that I never heard of mixed with many that have been around for awhile.
I will be spending the next couple of weeks working these sites to gather data on how effective this can be for our current efforts. Updates will come regularly for this. Mike, thank you for this post, it is from long ago but I see a lot of value with this

Get Control Over How Often Wordpress Pings Your Blog
Hello again. Keeping up with a sequel of Wordpress plugins posts, today, I€ll show you a plugin that prevents Worpress from pinging your blog€s update unnecessarily. You know, Worpress, by default, ping your blog every time you edit and save a post or page. More than unnecessary, this may also pose as a thread for your blog indexing, since you site may be flagged as spam, drastically reducing the odds of first page indexation, even on long tailed keywords.
I€ll start with a brief introduction of what ping means, for those who doesn€t know what I€m talking about. Then I€ll introduce this plugin I€m talking about, show you where and how to install it, and finally, how to configure it. I hope it can be useful for you.
Introduction
So, what is ping? Basically, all we need to know is that a ping works like some kind of signal your website send to search engines to tell them that it has been updated, as in you added new pages and posts. So, every time you use a ping service, you are informing search engines that there is new content on your website, so that they can send their €crawlers€ to index your new pages, and so on.
cbnet Ping Optimizer
This plugin called cbnet Ping Optimizer will make Wordpress€s auto-ping function wiser. It will prevent Wordpress to ping your blog every time you edit a page, preventing your website to be flagged as spam. You can view more information about the plugin here.
To install it, just follow the standard procedure to install a plugin on Wordpress: login to your administrator section, click on €Plugins€, €Add New€ and enter €cbnet Ping Optimizer€ at the search form. Find the plugin on the results and click on €Install€ and €Install Now€ on the pop-up window.
Once the installation process is over, activate the plugin. You should be taken to the installed plugins list page. Find Ping Optimizer and click on €Settings€.
From the setting page, you can add more update services URI (find more sites here), choose to enable or disable pinging, perform a manual ping, and so on.
Once you are done customizing your installation, save your changes and there you go! It is already working as it should be. You are no longer in danger of getting banned from search engines due to excessive pings. You blog will ping only when you create a new post or page.

Hello. I visited a topic yesterday from a guy from portugal offering support for brazilians in his native language. After that, considering that brazilian portuguese is actually different from portugal portuguese, I decided to create this topic, to help people from Brazil who can't understand english very well, with the ACME People Search program.
