    I use IBP (Internet Business Promoter) - slightly older version, but effective nonetheless - for analyzing and optimizing websites. It's a fantastic tool, and I thought that perhaps some people could benefit from this analysis - even though people might not be able to afford a copy of it themselves.

    A while back I used this software to optimize one of my websites, and it has been amongst the top 10 for more than 6 months. IBP will analyze the top 10 websites for your chosen keywords, and give you suggestions to tweak your page by comparing to those top ten sites.

    I know this is off topic but I hope to use this thread for us all to get to know a little about each other.

    My name is Neil, 29 years young, born on 16th January 1981, live in a small town called Ashby De-La-Zouch in Leicestershire smack bang in the centre of England (furthest point away from the sea) in the United Kingdom, and I have 2 younger brothers who are aged 9 and 17.

    I am currently single roll, live for the weekend with my mates, have no kids, don't smoke and I work as a part time Sales Assistant for Tesco the world's 3rd largest retailer (with Walmart being the 1st, lol.) I also have 2 basic Fist Aid qualifications, basic Food Hygiene levels 1 and 2 qualifications aswell as a GNVQ - General National Vocational Qualification in Business Studies.

    I was recently taking a course with Advent IT training learning Web Design and how to be a PC Technician. Unfortunately the company went bust meaning I couldn't carry on with my training but luckily I have APS to fall back on and with you great people to help carry me through.

    I love a challenge in life, meeting people, making new friends and I enjoy participating in fundraising events such as Dragon Boat Racing and 10 Kilometre runs to raise sponsorship for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK. These are my 2 main charities and I do all this in memory of some unfortunate family members who suffered from cancer.

    Free Advertising Topic Revival!

    There are literally thousands of postings from when this forum originated on many topics and I am creating this thread to revive many of those techniques.

    Just going through many of them so that they can be implemented to see if their effectiveness is still applicable today. Which most of them will be of course but since they are from long ago and long forgotten (or just not found), this is a good time to implement a "revival" of techniques lost to the archives.

    Everyone please share any archived material here with a link to the original poster and results of your efforts in utilizing them.

    Since, I am currently on a free classified advertising campaign I am beginning this with Mike Oyama's post REEMikes Advertiser Listing Directory, dated: Jul 8 2009. The reason being is that when I went to this blog it had some free advertising sites that I never heard of mixed with many that have been around for awhile.

    Hello again. Keeping up with a sequel of Wordpress plugins posts, today, I€ll show you a plugin that prevents Worpress from pinging your blog€s update unnecessarily. You know, Worpress, by default, ping your blog every time you edit and save a post or page. More than unnecessary, this may also pose as a thread for your blog indexing, since you site may be flagged as spam, drastically reducing the odds of first page indexation, even on long tailed keywords.

    I€ll start with a brief introduction of what ping means, for those who doesn€t know what I€m talking about. Then I€ll introduce this plugin I€m talking about, show you where and how to install it, and finally, how to configure it. I hope it can be useful for you.

    Introduction

    So, what is ping? Basically, all we need to know is that a ping works like some kind of signal your website send to search engines to tell them that it has been updated, as in you added new pages and posts. So, every time you use a ping service, you are informing search engines that there is new content on your website, so that they can send their €crawlers€ to index your new pages, and so on.

    cbnet Ping Optimizer

    This plugin called cbnet Ping Optimizer will make Wordpress€s auto-ping function wiser. It will prevent Wordpress to ping your blog every time you edit a page, preventing your website to be flagged as spam. You can view more information about the plugin here.

    To install it, just follow the standard procedure to install a plugin on Wordpress: login to your administrator section, click on €Plugins€, €Add New€ and enter €cbnet Ping Optimizer€ at the search form. Find the plugin on the results and click on €Install€ and €Install Now€ on the pop-up window.

    Once the installation process is over, activate the plugin. You should be taken to the installed plugins list page. Find Ping Optimizer and click on €Settings€.

    From the setting page, you can add more update services URI (find more sites here), choose to enable or disable pinging, perform a manual ping, and so on.

    Once you are done customizing your installation, save your changes and there you go! It is already working as it should be. You are no longer in danger of getting banned from search engines due to excessive pings. You blog will ping only when you create a new post or page.

    Hello. I visited a topic yesterday from a guy from portugal offering support for brazilians in his native language. After that, considering that brazilian portuguese is actually different from portugal portuguese, I decided to create this topic, to help people from Brazil who can't understand english very well, with the ACME People Search program.
